Manure lagoons (Manure ponds)

Manure lagoons (Manure ponds)

For the construction of a Manure Lagoon (Manure pond), we have carefully selected a material, the characteristics of which are proven all over the world. The Firestone’s EPDM Geomembrane offers one of the most successful ways to build manure lagoons.

ADVANTAGES:

• Extraordinary durability: very high resistance to weather impacts (especially UV rays and ozone);

• Good chemical resistance: numerous tests conducted in laboratories as well as practical results in this area show that the Firestone EPDM Geomembrane withstands very well to the chemical attacks from animal feces;

• Good resistance to piercing: reducing the risks of spills;

• Available in large panels (up to 930 m2) - a small number of seams and reducing the risks of errors during the installation on site;

• Easy repair: when the problem is detected, it can be easily repaired even if the Geomembrane has been used for several years;

• Excellent resistance to temperature changes: expansion and shrinkage caused by temperature differences, the effects of wastewater, fermentation processes or climatic conditions do not affect the waterproofing properties of the EPDM Geomembrane;

• High flexibility and elasticity: easy installation and adaptation to the unevenness of the terrain.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Thickness: 1.5mm

• Color: black

• Tensile strength (ISO R 527): 9 N/mm

• Water permeability (NF EN 14150)

• Durability (EN 12224): 25 years

• Methane (gas) permeability, (ASTM D1434)

• UV resistance, (NF EN ISO 12226), 4,000 h

• Resistance to piercing, (EN ISO 12236), 0.7 kN

PRE-PLANNING:

• Preparation of a technical design according to all terrain and wastewater characteristics;

• Design of technological solutions for the use of the manure in the area, depending on the type of the farm;

• Excavation works;

• Administrative procedures.
